AEROSPACE ENGINE ARCHITECT

Focus’ on the design and development of advanced propulsion systems. This position typically requires a blend of engineering expertise, project management skills, and innovative thinking to create efficient and reliable engines for aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Lead the design of propulsion systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, materials science, and systems engineering, to integrate engine designs with overall vehicle architecture.
  • Analysis and Testing: Conduct simulations and tests to validate engine performance and reliability, analyzing data to inform design improvements.
  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that development milestones are met.

The daily tasks and duties of this position are diverse and often depend on specialization within either aeronautical or astronautical engineering. These might include:

  • Using advanced computer software to design aerospace products and systems for functionality, cost-efficiency, and quality.
  • Performing detailed evaluations to improve system safety and meeting environmental regulations that impact aircraft operations and designs.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate aerial concepts and applications.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new technologies and methods, which may include attending conferences and workshops or pursuing continuous education.
  • Providing technical advice to clients, management, and other departments on risk assessment and design solutions.

Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in aerospace propulsion systems, with a strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials.
  • Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, simulation tools, and project management methodologies are essential.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

  • Aircraft Engine OR Turbine: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Systems Engineering: 8 years (Required)
