Job Details Job Location: Seattle Engineering Center - SEC - Seattle, WA 98108 About the Team AeroTECs Engineering Services Department supports and provides comprehensive, full-service aerospace engineering services to customers in aircraft design and certification. The Engineering Services Department is responsible for providing engineering consulting services related to aircraft performance, similarity analysis, reviewing and supporting certification activities, determining test requirements, and planning and documenting testing to meet customer needs. The Engineering Services Department provides several areas of expertise in Flight Sciences, Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Powerplant & FIFA, Air Systems, Cabin Safety, Structures and Liaison Engineering. About the Role The Aerospace Engineer, EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnect System) position is responsible for designing, analyzing, and maintaining the electrical configuration of aircraft systems. These EWIS aspects are for various systems and components on an airplane and rotorcraft. This role requires the significant exercise of independent discretion and judgment in matters of significance. In This Role You Will: Review and understand customer specifications, technical documentation, and electrical configurations. Analyze design requirements and perform trade-off studies. Produce and validate electrical documentation, such as wiring diagrams and harness data reports. Create and maintain tracking tools for quality and productivity. Review and analyze the electrical configuration of aircraft systems, read and understand the technical documentation such as schematics. Produce and validate electrical documentation such as wiring diagrams (WD) and harness data report (HDR). Create and maintain quality and productivity tracking tools Work in close cooperation with other engineering disciplines such as Systems, Electrical, Avionics, EMC, Safety, etc. Work in close cooperation with other non-engineering disciplines such as Quality, Logistics, Methods, Customer support, etc. Keep an open and innovative mindset to implement improvements. Qualifications The Skills You Will Bring (Minimum): Education: Four (4) year degree in Engineering (Aerospace or Electrical) or equivalent experience. Experience Required: Capital Harness (min. 5 years of experience). Ability to work on-site (Seattle). Preferred: Five (5) years aerospace experience in EWIS, including experience in the electrical aspects of the various systems and components and/or controllers on the airplane. Knowledge of aircraft systems (EWIS, Electrical, Avionics, Safety, etc.). Strong understanding of electrical harness assemblies, components, and routing. Strong knowledge of aircraft wiring (EWIS) & electrical systems is required. Experience with AutoCAD, CATIA, NX, Capital or any relevant electrical software. Experience working with electrical schematics and test environments. Familiarity with FAR Part 25 subpart H and certification rules addressing EWIS. You are familiar with SAE-AS50881 covering all aspects of EWIS. You are familiar with RTCA/DO-160 environmental conditions & test procedures.
