The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Directorate of Engineering is seeking a technically proficient and operationally oriented Intermediate Aerospace or Electrical Engineer with a keen interest in research, test design, analysis and assessment to lead and contribute to multiple comprehensive assessments across the Missile Defense System. The candidate selected will work closely with fellow FFRDC, UARC, government, and contractor team members to address pertinent performance concerns and evaluate innovative solutions. Responsibilities include maintaining the technical quality of products and deliverables, supporting the Project Leader for strategic work-shaping, and aiding in sponsor relationship management.
The successful candidate will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert for the areas of experimental design, analysis, and overall assessment. The primary focus will be to develop and execute assessment requirements, plans, and conclusions which support decisions to improve the Missile Defense System (MDS) operational baseline. Technical duties will also include accurate evaluation of component and system level support to multiple Combatant Commands (CCMDs) in relation to operational needs and evolving adversarial threat capabilities.
As a key technical contributor within the MDA work program, the individual selected will provide guidance in the domains of sensor and interceptor testing and performance characterization to enable the sponsor to successfully recommend deployment of new and improved capabilities to the applicable warfighters.
