Are you passionate about supporting the development of software that makes a real difference—like supporting mission-critical operations for our warfighters? Do you enjoy working with emerging technologies and being part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team? At DS2, we value innovation, teamwork, and a growth mindset. We’re currently looking for a motivated Aerospace Engineer/Weaponeer - SME to join our dynamic development team who has experience in evaluating weapons effectiveness, specialized experience in weapon performance & integration, effects of kinetic weapons, and has engineering experience in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, control systems, vibration and material science. If you’re someone who’s eager to lead, share ideas, and contribute to meaningful projects, we’d love to hear from you. Work location is in the DS2 office in Niceville, FL.
WHO IS DS2?
Founded in 2012, DS2 provides full life-cycle software engineering services to DoD, federal, and commercial clients using mature agile, scrum, and SAFe practices. We are an organization that is committed to teamwork with a clear focus on the customer and a belief that hiring talented individuals will help us meet our vision of “Engineered to Exceed Expectations”. DS2 engineers exemplify our core values and demonstrate a passion for building cutting-edge software that delivers value to our customers. We are always looking for new teammates with an aptitude and passion for developing software.
Our team supports the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness (JTCG/ME) in its mission to provide a mechanism for inter-service efforts to improve the databases and analytical methodologies the Joint force uses to determine non-nuclear weapons effectiveness. JWS is a key component of this mission, as it is designed to support U.S. and allied military planners in selecting the most effective munitions and delivery tactics to achieve specific target effects. Its primary purpose is to provide a standardized, scientifically-based tool for weaponeering — the process of matching weapons to targets to produce a desired level of damage or effect.
The successful candidate will be an experienced weapons engineer who is a consummate team player capable of researching, analyzing, and engineering solutions to meet customer demand. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess effective communication skills, and have experience with development and implementation of weapons systems.
