Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will implement receiving inspection methodologies to support the manufacture, assembly, and test for various spaceflight systems.
  • This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
  • Inspect material per inspection plan such as dimensions, part marking and traceability.
  • Review all supplied documentation for hardware acceptance per Purchase Order requirements including, but not limited to, inspection and material reports.
  • Provide feedback to engineers and buyers with dimensional data; document, track, and complete discrepancy reports.
  • Provide inspection time estimates; assist with maintaining and tracking all inspection equipment calibrations.
  • Contribute to process improvements; maintain configuration control on files and job records.
  • Safely work within an industrial environment.

QUALIFICATION:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in receiving or dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
  • Intermediate GD&T comprehension per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard; excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work.
  • Ability to select the correct tool for the inspection task; familiar with the use of personal computers.
  • Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Inventory system knowledge; purchase order system management; intermediate machining knowledge.
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
  • Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.).
    Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
    Pay: Up to $44.77 per hour
