AEROSPACE PRODUCTION - CAD ENGINEER

Are you an experienced CAD Engineer who is looking for a career instead of just their next job? If so we have a position as an Aerospace Production - CAD Engineer as part of the growing team with PPG Aerospace!
As an Aerospace Production - CAD Engineer you will be focused on multiple projects and offer a variety of design and drafting opportunities. You will use Auto CAD and SolidWorks platforms in your daily tasks. You will also play a critical role in creating a repository of old drawings and leveraging the information into the generation of new drawings or updating existing drawings. You will need to have an understanding of mechanical, electrical, and PNI diagrams.
This is an on-site role at our Mojave, CA facility and will report directly to the Engineering Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least two (2) years practical CAD programming experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of two-year technical Degree in Computer programming or Computer Aided design, or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • AutoCAD / SolidWorks experience required.

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 annually. All offer amounts are dictated by length/breadth of applicable experience and current departmental pay equity.

Responsibilities
  • Convert drawings into appropriate CAD file formats and create production-ready drawings based on specifications.
  • Utilize nesting software to import CAD files and generate NC programs for equipment.
  • Develop inspection sheets, shop drawings, and bills of materials to support all aspects of production and documentation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication between sales, production, pricing, and technical teams to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Review and revise documents as needed to maintain accuracy and compliance with industry standards and quality requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and prototype testing, recommending modifications for performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay current with CAD and CNC technology advancements, suggesting upgrades and working independently to meet deadlines.
