Description

OVERVIEW:

As an Aerospace Quality Inspector, you’ll be a critical part of ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in aircraft manufacturing at a major aerospace facility in the Charleston area. You’ll be responsible for performing meticulous inspections and working closely with production teams to address any non-conforming parts or processes. This role requires an individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to compliance with all industry regulations and company protocols.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ year of experience in aircraft manufacturing, maintenance, or a similar aerospace environment.
  • 1+ year of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within the aviation industry.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems, components, and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes manufacturing environment.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field.
  • Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Certifications such as A&P license or ASQ certifications.
Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed inspections of aircraft components, assemblies, and systems throughout various stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Identify and document product defects, non-conformances, and potential quality issues using established procedures and systems.
  • Clearly communicate inspection findings and provide instructions to Mechanical Technicians and other production personnel for effective resolution.
  • Verify that all repairs and rework are completed accurately and meet the necessary quality standards.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying trends and opportunities to enhance quality processes.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all inspection activities and results.
