BACKGROUND

Our cutting-edge systems (such as the high-altitude PHASA-35) have clear commercial value, are developed at pace and address critical customer needs.
We are currently looking for a Ground Maintenance Engineer (aerostructures) to join Prismatic Ltd. based in Alton.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Background in aerospace engineering, aerostructures, or aircraft maintenance (with relevant hands-on experience).
  • Experience working with composite and metallic airframes or aerostructure systems.
  • Strong practical skills in inspection, maintenance, and repair of aerostructures.
  • Ability to identify technical problems, troubleshoot effectively, and escalate appropriately.
  • Team player with strong communication skills, able to work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and supervisors.
  • Willingness to support test flight trials in the UK and overseas, with flexibility for travel and irregular working patterns.
  • Familiarity with qualification and acceptance testing processes.
  • Basic understanding of flight readiness procedures and pre-flight preparation.
  • Commitment to high standards of quality, product assurance, and safety.
  • Ability to engage confidently with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience supporting flight trials or experimental aircraft programmes.
  • Knowledge of aerospace regulatory requirements and maintenance best practices.
  • Familiarity with ground handling and flight-line operations.
  • Experience providing design feedback from a maintenance/operational perspective.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities
  • Support test flight trials inside and outside of UK, specifically preparing aerostructure for flight
  • Identify a problem, be able to communicate effectively to their supervisor and work as part of a team.
  • Support Supervisors in the generation and conducting of qualification and acceptance testing.
  • Contribute to work packages and present results to peers
  • Work as part of a team to ensure flight readiness
  • Provide input into design from a Ground maintenance perspective
  • Support quality and product assurance
  • Engage with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct secondary tasks in support of the flight to ensure operational effectiveness.
