QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate.
• Two years of experience with an Aesthetician license. Laser experience preferred.
• Appropriate individual training in aesthetic skin care. Thorough knowledge of skin care products and terminology.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.LICENSURE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND CLEARANCES:

PURPOSE:

The paramedical aesthetician performs direct patient care, specific to the health, quality and appearance of the skin. This service provides under the supervision of a physician, such as a plastic surgeon or dermatologist, who treats cosmetic surgery patients. Treatment may be isolate or coordinate with anticipated cosmetic surgery, such as a chemical peel, dermabrasion, facelift, etc. He/she contributes to the experience of patients seeking cosmetic improvement by providing professional, friendly, and quality services. Supervisory and teaching skills are expected. This position requires a motivated individual to function independently and utilize good judgment. Patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times. The paramedical aesthetician must be willing to participate in establishing standards and procedures for related activities in the clinical office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate patient for skin care treatments and skin care regimes.
• Performs facials and other various procedures as needed.
• Periodically evaluates program effectiveness.
• Assist staff in the provision and distribution of skin care related products and services.
• Ability to diagnosis skin disorders in the aging populations such as melasma, keratosis, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, etc.
• Provide verbal and written information adequate for properly documenting informed consent for recommended procedures.
• Conduct educational seminars for medical staff as needed.
• Greet patients and directs them to the skin care area.
• Assist physicians in the treatment of common skin disorders in the aging population.
• Application of various peels as well as assisting providers with other procedures.
• Assist in the smooth and uninterrupted provision of general clinical support in the doctor’s office to include, but is not limited to scheduling appointments, answering phones, providing information to patients and providing assistance to the doctors in the general care of the patients.
