Description
This role will be the AFGSC/A58 representative/liaison between AFGSC and AFNWC LRSO program office at Eglin AFB. This individual will be embedded in and interface regularly with the LRSO program office to ensure AFGSC remains aware of topics of interest regarding the LRSO program, as well as provide the LRSO SPO timely responses to questions and RFIs needing AFGSC endorsement, support or advocacy. This individual will work in a MAJCOM staff role and be responsible for managing development, integration and nuclear certification activities related to advanced technology nuclear weapons including the Long Range Stand Off (LRSO) and other strategic weapons programs. Tasks and responsibilities will be inclusive of but not limited to: • Assist in tracking and analyzing trends, user requirements, and other key issues by applying acquisition, requirements, logistics, maintenance, and operational experiences. • Assist in developing, preparing, and monitoring applicable JCIDS and PPBE documents/processes/activities related to AFGSC nuclear programs. • Support, monitor, and assist in defining developmental (DT) and operational (OT) testing with regards to advanced programs and apply operational knowledge of bomber testing, fielding and logistical processes and provide recommendations to the Government for priority, funding and range scheduling. • Work closely with bomber platforms Weapon System Teams (WST) and System Program Offices (SPO) to coordinate the development of new systems, retrofit of advanced technologies and modifications to existing systems and to identify/resolve problems associated with and related to system deficiencies. • Requires frequent travel to provide command inputs for advanced program acquisition decisions through technical interchanges and meetings with contractors, Program Managers, other MAJCOMs and HAF. • Be a high-performer, comfortable operating in multidisciplinary teams of industry, government and military personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, scientists, aircrew, and maintenance professionals. Required Skills and Experience: • Minimum of 20 years of experience and a background in bomber nuclear weapons logistics, sustainment, and operations. • Knowledge and understanding of national, DoD and US Air Force statutory and regulatory policies, directives and procedures relating to acquisition, PPBE and JCIDS activities as well as HAF/MAJCOM/NAF experience. • Possess a minimum of eighteen (18) months Special Access Program (SAP) experience • Possess strong ability to work in a team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills. • Possess good analytic skills, be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment, and must have strong verbal and written communications skills. • Possess the ability to travel monthly. Desired Skills and Experience: • Prior nuclear bomber experience is highly desired. • Experience with programs entering the Materiel Solution Analysis (MSA) phase and continuing through the acquisition lifecycle (ICD, AoA, Milestones, PDR, CDR, IOT&E, etc.) is highly desired. Education Requirements: Bachelors degree. Clearance Requirements: Active Top Secret SCI Security Clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), SSBI Periodic Reinvestigation (SSBI-PR), or a Phased Periodic Reinvestigation or equivalent investigation current within 6 years.
