Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

In the absence of the Director of Nursing (DON) and the Nurse Unit Managers (NUM), the After Hours Coordinator (AHC) is responsible for the overall management of the facility. The AHC will support the Executive and the Nurse Managers in the provision and maintenance of quality care within Central Highlands Rural Health Services, through competent clinical and business practice, effective communication and active participation. The AHC will be a highly motivated leader, responsible for the maintenance of safety for patients, visitors and staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management of Urgent Care Centre with Triaging and management of Patient presentations with a good knowledge of the Australasian Triage Scale (ATS)
  • Participate in a portfolio relating to one of the national Accreditation STandards or Aged Care Standards, inclusive of audit completion, coordinate training as required and support NUM and DON to implement recommendations.
  • Atten the investigation of incidents reported on VHIMS from your allocated shifts, all incidents to be signed off within 2 weeks on entry with recommnedation communicated to DON. Ensures that all required infection control, fire & Emergency and security checks are completed as scheduled.
