THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Floor Coordinator to join our team at Kareena Private Hospital. This is a key leadership position that is accountable for efficient and effective operational management of the Maternity Services after-hours. The successful candidate will support our junior staff in our Birth Unit and Special Care Nursery as the After-Hours Clinical Midwifery support for the Unit. You will demonstrate extensive knowledge in these areas and have the ability to take a patient load as required in Post Natal.

Your duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Support and contribute to planning, implementing, and evaluating care practices, processes, and services.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements to uphold best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Maternity Team to achieve excellence in care delivery.
  • Lead and inspire a dedicated team of nurses to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Work closely with on-shift doctors and Hospital After Hours Managers to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adherence to best practices.
  • Report directly to the Nurse Unit Manager, contributing to strategic goals and objectives.

Opportunity for a part time role where you will lead our afternoon shift from 6.30pm to 7am on a rotating roster.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role you will be a positive and effective leader with the ability to motivate others. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to coordinate and motivate a large team of clinical and non-clinical professionals.

You will also bring;

  • Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience within maternity and birthing
  • Experience in neonatal resuscitation is required
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective role model in the area of clinical practice
  • Sound Computer skills in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Analytical and ability to problem solve
  • Critical care experience desirable but not essential.

To be successful you will need to be available to work a 7-day rotating roster.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
