Job Summary
The role of the Afterschool Care Provider is to work as part of the management team. To lead the day-to-day organization of the Afterschool Program. To provide a high standard of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 5-12 years old in a safe and nurturing environment. To plan and implement a program that will meet the developmental, social, emotional, and physical needs of each child. To form and maintain a positive relationship with parents, co-workers, and professionals from other organizations. To maintain a high standard of care following RCCCS policies and procedures and the Child Care Licensing Act.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with children in a care or educational setting
  • Background in tutoring or teaching, particularly in early childhood education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children and parents
  • Ability to create a safe and nurturing environment for children
  • Patience and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of children in after school care
    Job Type: Part-time
    Pay: $24.00-$27.93 per hour

Responsibilities

· Planning, preparing, and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment. (activities that are developmentally appropriate for the age of the children)
· Providing an inclusive and welcoming environment that incorporates the children’s ages, interests, and abilities.
· Administering first aid when necessary.
· Develop and plan activities that incorporate program goals into the daily routine.
· Providing nutritious and healthy refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health, and safety standards are met.
· Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for participants.
· Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
· Maintain open communication between Treehouse staff and Roberts Creek Elementary School personnel.
· Communicate with the parents through daily drop-off and pick-up.
· Maintain a safe environment for participants.
· Attend staff meetings.
· Maintain a positive attitude toward co-workers and RCCCS.
· Report any problems which arise with participants, other employees, or the school to the Operations Manager.
· Responsible for all activity and room preparations for the program.
· Keep the room neat and orderly.
· Proactive response to any issues and concerns regarding the program
· Other duties as assigned.
· Make recommendations to the Operations Manager for improvement on equipment, supplies, facility, and program needs.
· Fully clean the center (inside/outside) after programing is finished.
· Be flexible and adaptable to new situations.
