OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated candidate to join our team at KidzClub Sechelt. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. The ideal candidate will have a background in early childhood education, along with experience working with children. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young learners.

SKILLS

  • Creates a welcoming environment for children
  • Connects and communicates with children and parents in a warm and respectful manner
  • Helps implement arts, crafts, games and physical activities for a wide range of ages and developmental stages
  • Provides safe supervision of free play activities
  • Helps children problem solve, resolve conflicts, and develop social/friendship skills
  • Is active, fun, playful, while setting clear boundaries as necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

REQUIREMENTS

All staff must provide:

  • A clear criminal record check
  • Immunization record/or letter of conscientious objection
  • Current Emergency Childcare First Aid certificate (or equivalent) an asset
  • Three references

QUALIFICATIONS

  • previous experience working with school aged children
  • Minimum 20 hours of completed courses relating to child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition e.g. Responsible Adult Course through CCRR.
