RECE/DA AFTER SCHOOL EDUCATOR

Permanent, Part-time
For over 35 years, Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton has been dedicated to offering high-quality programs for young children and their families. We operate full-day early learning and childcare centres for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, along with before and after school extended-day programs for kindergarten and school-aged children at over 27 locations across the Greater Hamilton Area.

Location: Templemead; 62 Templemead Drive, Hamilton ON L8W 3Z7
Total Weekly Hours: 16.5 per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants):

  • RECE: $27.94 per hour
  • Non-RECE: $25.40 per hour

Who We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children or in a childcare setting.
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent (e.g., Child & Youth Worker, Child and Youth Care, OCT, Recreation & Leisure diploma).

Certifications:

  • Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen? (an asset)
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
