Job Details Job Location: Youth Development - Olympia, WA Position Type: Part-Time Salary Range: $19.25 - $19.25 Hourly Job Category: School Age Child Care Description 🧭 About the Role The After School Group Leader is the right-hand helper to our Site Director, making sure every child feels safe, supported, and excited to be part of Y-Care. From leading activities to keeping the environment clean and welcoming, you'll play a key role in creating a place where kids thrive. This year-round, 5 day a week part-time role delivers before and after school programming with average hours depending on time of year and school location. While school is in session, August – June, start times vary based on school dismissal time. This includes additional hours on early release days, ACT Days and conference days where school dismissal can be as early as 10:30AM. Seasonal breaks are also included in working hours. You're upbeat, reliable, with a heart for community. You have experience facilitating or leading youth-focused activities. You bring creativity, patience, and positivity—even on tough days. You can model developmental and relationship skills to children. 🔧 Key Responsibilities Be a positive role model and build real connections with students. Support with safety, behavior management, and day-to-day logistics. Keep things running smoothly, from taking attendance to tidying up. Be a team player—ready to pitch in and step up when needed. Ensure every child feels seen, heard, and celebrated. Qualifications 🧰 Must-Haves or Must-Gets CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire. New Employee Orientation within 45 days of hire. 30 hours DCYF STARS training and high school/college transcripts/ MMR vaccine records & a negative TB test.
