Description:
We are seeking a part-time teacher to lead fun and engaging visual storytelling workshops with groups of elementary school students after school. During these weekly sessions, students collaborate to create original, narrative, short films - from brainstorming through post-production. We are seeking instructors who can support students’ creative processes, and guide them successfully through all stages of the process. The scheduled hours for an instructor are from 2:30pm to 5:00PM, when NYC public schools are in session.
Our programs are dedicated to supporting the social and emotional learning of participants by providing choice-based activities that empower student voices and using delivery methods that develop compassion, understanding, and kindness. In addition to being experts in specific fields of content, our Instructors (Teachers, Coaches, Teaching Artists, etc.), are the educators who are most essential in ensuring that our after-school programs create experiences for children that are consistent with our vision of social and emotional learning: active listening, peer support, and radical kindness.
