Must be available to work after-school hours M-F 3pm-7pm Sat 10-1 About the Role Code Ninjas is seeking a Coding Instructor to teach both our JR Program (ages 5-7) and CREATE Program (ages 8-14). As a Code Sensei, you'll help kids 5-14 develop proper coding skills, build fun games, and explore advanced STEM topics. Access to modern tools and teaching resources. Responsibilities (what you will be doing) Engage and Inspire Students: Create a positive, fun, and safe learning environment for children aged 5-14. Teach Coding Curriculum: Deliver Code Ninjas’ curriculum, including block-based coding for younger students (K-2) and syntax-based coding for students in 3rd grade or higher, such as JavaScript, Microsoft MakeCode, Godot, and Unity. Run Clubs and Camps: Lead engaging activities such as STEM/Robotics, Minecraft and Roblox programming, 3D printing projects, and seasonal camps tailored to various age groups. Develop Activities: Design, modify, and execute interactive coding and STEM activities to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Monitor Progress: Assess students’ skills, track their progress, and provide feedback to parents after each session. Maintain the Dojo: Ensure the center is clean, organized, and safe for all students. Collaborate and Create: Work with teammates to create content for social media and promotional materials. Communicate with Parents: Share students’ achievements and progress, addressing any questions or concerns with enthusiasm and professionalism. Qualifications (what we’re looking for) Required: Passion for Teaching and Technology: Enthusiastic about teaching coding, computer science, and STEM concepts to kids. Experience with Children: Prior experience working with kids aged 5-14 in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or similar roles. Coding Knowledge: Basic understanding of coding concepts, with a willingness to learn more on the job. Engaging Personality: Confident, patient, empathetic, kind, and approachable with a talent for making learning fun. Organized and Proactive: A well-organized individual with strong classroom management skills and a can-do attitude to solve problems and support teammates. Growth Mindset: Quick learner, eager to improve skills, and willing to adapt to new challenges. Small Group Management: Ability to effectively lead small groups of 4-10 children. Local to Tracy, CA: Resides in or near the area. Preferred (Nice to Have): Creative Skills: Experience creating visual content using tools like Canva. Advanced Coding Knowledge: Familiarity or experience with JavaScript, Godot, C#/Unity.
