JOB TITLE: AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM EDUCATOR

Hours: 0 - 27.5 hours/week
Time Frame: Monday - Friday from 3:15pm-6:45pm
Location: Eva Rothwell Centre - 460 Wentworth St. N
Reports To: Program Manager & Program Coordinator

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience facilitating children’s programs and/or working with children.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check will be required.
  • High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification (Recreation Quality Assurance Standard) *(an asset).
  • Food Handler’s Certificate.

  • Facilitators will be responsible for lesson/program planning, managing daily set-up/clean-up of various program spaces and implementing several activities and exercises for children ages 5-18 (depending on the program space they’ve been allocated to):
  • *Kid’s Room (ages 5-8)
  • *Art Room (ages 8-18)
  • *Games Room (ages 8-18)
  • *Computer Room (ages 8-18)
  • *Q.W.E.E.R Space (ages 8-18)
  • *Music Room (ages 8-18)
  • *Tutoring Room (ages 8-12)
  • *Kitchen - After School Snack (ages 5-18)
  • *Kitchen - Breakfast Program (5-18)
  • *Gym (ages 5-18)
  • *Teen Room ( ages 12-18)
  • *Crossfit Room (ages 8-18)
  • *Literacy Express Train (ages 8-18)
  • Photo documentation of the experiences to be used as a program evaluation tool.
  • Encouraging and promoting participation in engaging and educational activities and exercises.
  • Programming a varied line-up instructional programs, special events, and drop-in activities for children 5-18 years of age.

    To follow and uphold the Eva Rothwell Centre’s Vision, Mission and Core Values. Provide leadership, direction and daily management framing all key decisions and strategic direction with the Mission, Core Values and policies and procedures of the Eva Rothwell Centre.
