Patches 360 Inc. is a social non-for profit agency dedicated to providing independent communication consulting, non-clinical social services, and educational programs for children and youth.

SUMMARY

We seek enthusiastic post-secondary students to lead creative and skill-building programs for children aged 6–14, including: Digital Technology & STEM-Related Workshops (coding, app design, digital literacy), Ongoing Art, Design & Music Lessons, Youth Leadership & Mentoring Programs (preteen and teen focus). This role is pivotal in delivering engaging educational programs and support services that empower children and youth. You will play a crucial part in fostering a nurturing environment that aligns with our mission of promoting social development.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred.
  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education in Education, Arts, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Strong interest or experience in digital technology, STEM, or multimedia is a valuable asset.
  • Knowledge of special education practices is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • First aid certification is desirable but not required.
  • Passion for supporting the development of children and youth.
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check (required after hire).
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational programs tailored to the needs of children and youth.
  • Facilitate engaging, hands-on after school activities in your program area.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes creativity and skill development.
  • Mentor youth to cultivate leadership, confidence, and positive decision-making.
  • Assist with planning, preparation, and session evaluations.
  • Collaborate with parents, educators, and community members to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Facilitate group activities that promote teamwork and social skills.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive atmosphere for all participants.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
