ABOUT US:

The Martial Arts Training Centre (TMATC) is a leading mixed martial arts school in Richmond Hill, offering a variety of martial arts programs, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, Wrestling, and Judo. We also run a popular After School Program that provides children with a safe, structured, and fun environment to learn and grow.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Program Counsellor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children, have a strong interest in martial arts, and be able to create a positive and engaging atmosphere for our students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a camp, school, or after-school setting.
  • A background or interest in martial arts is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage groups of children in a safe and structured manner.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A positive, energetic attitude and a passion for making a difference in children’s lives.

  • Supervise and engage with children in the after-school program, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assist with homework, school projects, and other educational activities.
  • Lead and participate in martial arts-related activities, games, and exercises.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes respect, discipline, and teamwork.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and fellow staff members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, including set-up and clean-up of program activities.
  • Support the planning and execution of special events, PA days, and school break camps.
