Job Details Job Location: University School of Nashville - Nashville, TN 37212 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $18.00 Hourly Job Shift: Day Job Category: Education AFTER-SCHOOL Staff Members 2025 - 2026 University School of Nashville is seeking Child and Youth Programs (After School staff) members for the 2025-2026 school year. Child and Youth Programs (After School staff) members are responsible for managing a cohort of students, initiating activities with children that encourage prosocial behavior and build community awareness, and facilitating a social curriculum that will help the children become successful adults. In addition, they are responsible for keeping the environment clean and safe and leading and monitoring outside play in varying weather conditions. Child and Youth Programs (After School staff) members work with their teammates using appropriate guidance and conflict resolution techniques, communicate with each other about issues that may arise, and provide constant attention to the needs of the children in their care. A few staff members will be responsible for running sign-out procedures. These staff members must be friendly, outgoing, comfortable talking with parents, and have strong communication and customer service skills. On-the-job training will be provided. USN has a deep commitment to equitable and just community spaces. Candidates should have an awareness of the ways in which implicit biases in race, ethnicity, gender identity and socioeconomic class can shape social interactions and community culture. Candidates should be able to translate that awareness into demonstrable actions that promote equitable and just programming. Qualifications: Must be energetic, creative, caring, and motivated High school diploma is required, some college is preferred Previous experience working with school-aged children is required Must be able to move easily inside and outside in order to provide adequate supervision in our facility Candidates with a background in visual or performing arts, sports, STEM, or classroom experience are given preference Must be available to work from August through May Hours: 15-20 hours per week Applicants with Monday through Friday availability are given preference Shifts available: 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm A few days will require greater flexibility in hours, including morning hours Starting Pay: $18/hr Additional experience in the care of school-age children will be considered Please note: There are opportunities to combine the AFTER-SCHOOL staff position with the Lower School Teaching Assistant position for a 30+ hours/week benefits eligible position.
