JOB SUMMARY

The Aftermarket Engineering Data Engineer is responsible for developing and automating analytical tools and data process workflows that support aftermarket engineering. The engineering tools enable our engineering teams to improve data analytics, and productivity by streamlining processes. This person will partner directly with our design, engineering, and product support teams, so success in this key person requires collaboration with subject matter experts to translate needed requirements into software tools and data products.

Primary focus of this position is to support the business growth strategy by executing a broad range of technical activities to present solutions for aftermarket engineering teams.

  • Apply critical thinking to translate design, engineering, and product support requirements into supporting tools.
  • Continuously improve engineering analytics capabilities through improved workflow efficiency, automation, documentation, and enhancements.
  • Develop automation tools to streamline manual processes within and across multiple software systems.
  • DATA ANALYSIS: Analyzing data to identify trends, prioritize issues, and create meaningful data visualizations that will allow teams to form product or process improvement decisions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues with data and applications.
  • Collaborate with product support to understand and translate customer needs.
  • Checks own work and others to ensure accurate and reliable data products.
  • Lead projects with cross functional teams to develop and maintain analytic workflows and visualizations.
  • Creates data pipelines and data sets with minimal oversight.
  • Conducts independent data exploration to assess quality of new data sources.
  • Implements monitoring of data sources in production to ensure consistency of data feeding models.
  • Participate in Analytics Roadmap development for Aftermarket Engineering.
  • Develop data knowledge and capabilities of the organization by serving as a consultant to other functions.
  • Ability to understand and develop advanced Data Science workflows delivering Predictive or Prescriptive analytics.
  • Ability to combine data from various sources, maintaining consistency and quality throughout the process.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets
  • Documents work and code in appropriate repository.
  • Serve as a member on Product Growth Teams (PGT).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or 7+ years of relevant work experience in a data and analytics role, preferably for engineering analytics.
  • Masters in Computer Science, or Engineering preferred.
  • Alteryx or Dataiku certifications required.
