Afternoon Announcer - Olds, AB
We are looking for our next, dare to be great, candidate for Rock 104.5 and 96.5 CKfm in Olds. The right candidate will be outgoing and ready to really dig into the community and be the face of the station around town. JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Program Director, the On Air Announcer will be responsible for delivering live content on air for Vista Radio in Olds and the surrounding towns. This includes providing listeners with entertaining and informative programming, including news, weather, music and other relevant content.
Responsibilities
- Host an entertaining, live and locally focused show.
- Be a part of the community; live, play and work here.
- Be a storyteller with creative, compelling content.
- Ensure Vista content strategy is executed consistently on air and online.
- Assist with sales/programming by collaborating on creative promotions.
- Liaise with clients and being an ambassador for our Radio Station; be a prominent part of the community.
- Make promotional appearances, as required and appear at local events, community events and remote broadcasts.
- Assist to develop creative promotions.
- Commit to professional growth with regular air checks.
- Schedule/edit music logs using Music Master following CRTC guidelines.
- Optimize social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok and web content.
- Keep up with and share local news stories with our news team in Olds
- Provide voice tracking for other Vista properties as required.
- General office duties when required.
- All other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Be extremely community minded.
- Be willing to make in roads and contacts with local personalities.
- A great attitude and the ability to be a positive force in the building.
- Ability to communicate effectively on the phone, on the air and in person.
- Superior organizational skills.
- A sense of humor is a MUST.
- Must know how to operate in a digital age using social media and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and video-editing an asset.
- Familiarity with X-Studio and Music Master an asset.
- Production skills working with Adobe Audition an asset.
