Position Summary The Afternoon Distribution Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily outbound distribution operations during the afternoon shift. This position ensures shipping accuracy, safety compliance, team productivity, and on-time freight execution while actively working alongside warehouse associates. This role partners closely with the Distribution Hub Manager and other Lead Hands to coordinate staffing, manage workflow, and maintain Grimco’s operational and safety standards. The Afternoon Distribution Lead plays a key role in process improvement, team development, and communication across warehouse, sales, and logistics functions. Shift Hours: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM Location of Work: 680 Steeprock Dr, Toronto ON Key Responsibilities Distribution & Shipping Operations * Oversee theaccuratepicking, checking, and loading of outbound orders destined for regional warehouses and customers. * Ensure shipping requirements, freight routing tasks, and loading procedures are completed according to Grimco standards. * Confirmtransport trucks are loaded properly and safely for scheduled departures. * CreateaccurateBills of Lading (BOLs) for all outbound trucks. * Ensureall daily outbound orders are processed and shipped on time. Team Leadership & Workflow Management * Lead, coach, and support warehouse associates through hands-on participation in daily operations. * Coordinate staffing and workload distribution in partnership with other Lead Hands. * Motivate by example, fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. * Provide ongoing training and share best practices to elevate team performance within the Daily Distribution department. * Support a positive, productive, and safety-focused work environment. Systems, Reporting & Accuracy * Utilize RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to manage picking, shipping, and reporting processes. * Monitor operational reports to ensure accuracy, efficiency, andtimelyorder completion. * Maintain strong computerproficiency, including email, Microsoft Office, WMS, and Employee Management Systems. Safety & Facility Oversight * Examine workplace conditions daily to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and Grimco’s Warehouse Safety Checklist. * Oversee and reinforce safety standards and procedures across the shift. * Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and equipment condition. * Assistwith warehouse maintenance, special projects, and general facility upkeep. Communication & Coordination * Communicate effectively with sales teams, warehouse personnel, and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations. * Work closely with the Distribution Hub Manager to support branch goals and operational priorities. * Support end-of-day responsibilities including building closure, alarm systems, and security procedures. Qualifications * 5+ years of warehouse or distribution experience. * Previousexperience leading or supervising a small warehouse team. * Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanning, and shipping documentation. * Proficiencyin Microsoft Office, email, and basic computer systems. * Ability to successfully complete a criminal background screening. * Proficient with operational reporting tools and virtual collaboration Physical Demands * Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, andcarryingmaterials weighing 70+ pounds. * Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift. * Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing ladders. * Ability tooperatemanual and electrically powered warehouse equipment, including forklifts. * Full range of physical motionrequiredfor warehouse tasks.
