We are looking for an Afternoon Tutor to provide academic support and encouragement to learners in a focused after-school setting. These primary communities are at the heart of our commitment to early childhood education. Afternoon Tutor Location Currently Hiring: Clara E. Westropp CMSD/Horizon Partnership School (8 to 10 hours per week) Wage Information: Part-time hourly position with a maximum of 12 hours per week; pay rate of $30.50 per hour. Reports to: Center Director or Site Coordinator Job Description: Plan and write individualized lessons to build reading or math skills Conduct after-school reading and math tutoring in small groups Use assessments from academic programs to identify student needs Implement learning activities with children Paperwork and guidelines are impacted by grant funding requirements and must be always adhered to Maintain documentation for services provided Meet with parents and families to discuss progress Work with staff to monitor the use of virtual academic curriculum Establish and maintain communication via email child’s school day teacher (work with the site administrator to establish) Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit Work independently with a small group of children and as part of a team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information All other duties as needed/assigned Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education or higher; teaching license preferred. A degree along with professional tutoring experience may be accepted.
