JOB DESCRIPTION

Our after-school programme provides a safe, engaging, and fun environment where children can unwind, play, and learn after the school day ends.
As part of the Active Care team, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality childcare, leading creative and active sessions, and fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere in one of our after-school club settings.
This opportunity is ideal for Teaching Assistants, nursery practitioners, or anyone with a passion for working with children and creating enriching experiences in a flexible, part-time role.

THE POSITION

We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic, and caring Afterschool Club Lead to deliver a variety of play-based activities for children aged 4–7 in our childcare provision.
You’ll be confident, creative, and able to engage young children in a safe and stimulating environment. Experience working with primary-aged children is highly desirable.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 3:15 PM – 5:15 PM (Term-time only)

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Level 2/3 Childcare or Playwork qualification (desirable)
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (training can be provided)
  • Paediatric First Aid (training can be provided)

Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day running of the after-school provision
  • Deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children
  • Provide excellent customer service and liaise with parents/carers
  • Act as the first point of contact for queries or concerns
  • Promote the club within the school and local community
  • Purchase and serve a light tea for children
  • Provide cover during school holidays (as needed)
