Hours: 20–22.50 hours per week, typically from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Note: This is a term-time only position.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Best Start Childcare Ltd is seeking a caring and organized Afterschool Coordinator to lead our afterschool program. This role combines hands-on childcare with management responsibilities, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for school-aged children.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Level 5 qualification in Childcare (essential)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in childcare
  • First Aid and Manual Handling certification (advantageous)
  • Experience working with school-aged children in a childcare setting
  • Familiarity with TUSLA, POBAL, and childcare regulations (advantageous)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

HOURLY WAGE FROM €16 PER HOUR , DEPENDING OF YOUR QUALIFICATION AND LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE .

Responsibilities
  • Support children with homework and daily routines
  • Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
  • Hold regular team meetings for planning and communication
  • Maintain attendance and regulatory records
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
  • Ensure the environment meets hygiene, health, and safety standards
  • Act as the Designated First Aid, Fire Safety, and Mandate person
