Responsibilities

INTRODUCTION: LEAD WITH PURPOSE

Are you passionate about education, community, and making a lasting impact? At LaAmistad, our Site Directors do more than lead—they inspire. As the heart of our afterschool programs, Site Directors shape learning environments that uplift Latino youth through academic support, character development, and strong community partnerships. If you love teaching and leading with purpose, this is your chance to turn passion into purpose.
LaAmistad is hiring driven and compassionate educators to lead our afterschool sites for the 2025–2026 school year. In this role, you’ll create a safe, encouraging space where students build literacy and math skills, develop social-emotional confidence, and grow alongside volunteer mentors. You’ll also work closely with families, schools, and staff to ensure each child gets the tailored support they need to thrive—inside and outside the classroom.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Site Director, you’ll lead the daily operations of your afterschool site and create an environment where students, families, and volunteers all feel empowered to succeed.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Lead afterschool academic sessions focused on literacy, math, and social-emotional growth.
  • Collaborate with LaAmistad’s Academic Director to plan and adapt learning activities based on individual student needs.
  • Monitor and report student progress using assessments, report cards, and school-provided data.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, schools, volunteers, and program leadership regarding student development and site updates.
  • Train, supervise, and support volunteer tutors and program assistants.
  • Maintain site safety by enforcing emergency protocols and child protection policies.
  • Foster strong partnerships with school staff and host site representatives.
  • Share weekly updates via a digital newsletter with stakeholders.
  • Manage site-level administrative tasks, including timesheet approvals for staff.
