AGED CARE CHEF – BRUNSWICK VIC

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are working with a Supported Residential Service (SRS) located in central Brunswick, providing accommodation and individualised care for residents who are unable to live independently. With residents from diverse backgrounds and mental capacities, they are committed to meeting their emotional, spiritual, physical, and social needs with dignity and respect.

This residential service is now looking for a full time Chef to join their team. You’ll be contributing to the planning and preparation of nutritionally balanced meals tailored to the dietary requirements of the residents. This includes menu development, food safety compliance, and collaboration with care staff to ensure meals support wellbeing and comfort.

  • Location – Brunswick VIC
  • Salary – A generous salary is offered in the range $75k-$85k plus superannuation per annum.
  • Tenure – Full time and Permanent.
  • Schedule - Includes weekday and weekend shifts
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES OF OUR CHEF WILL INCLUDE:

  • Lead, guide and inspire the kitchen team to deliver the best results.
  • Assist in the hiring and training of new cooks and kitchen staff.
  • Ensure meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, including texture-modified diets, allergies, and cultural preferences.
  • Manage kitchen consumables, stock takes, ordering, cost control and budgeting.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with aged care food safety and compliance standards.
  • Design menus that balance nutrition, comfort, and variety for residents with diverse health profiles.
  • Ensure strict compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards adhering to aged care-specific food safety protocols, including HACCP and infection control.
  • Collaborate with care staff to ensure meals support residents’ wellbeing and care plans.

TO BE SUCCESSFULLY CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE, YOU:

  • Possess excellent relevant post-secondary cookery-related qualifications, to at least Diploma level or agreed substitute.
  • Have at least one or more years of experience since earning your qualifications in a similar professional capacity.
  • Are available throughout the working week and weekends.
  • Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP.
  • Understand cost control, time management, prioritization, and cost-efficient procurement practices.
  • Are an excellent people manager able to get the most out of your team.
