ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Aged Care Nurse Practitioner to join us in this engaging, stimulating, and fulfilling role, with dynamic practice incorporating the application of high-level knowledge and skills in extended practice across stable, unpredictable and complex situations. As the Aged Care Nurse Practitioner you will be responsible for:

  • Provision of expert clinical assessment diagnosis, treatment and management to the older persons who present to the ED and may then require continued care in the community – within scope of practice.
  • Practice autonomously initiating and managing the care and/or monitoring the ongoing therapy of patients with diseases or disorders within the scope of practice by providing effective pharmacological and other evidence based interventions.
  • Providing leadership in preventative health programs and patient education in various settings.
  • Utilise the best available evidence to guide the treatment of patients in consultation with their general practitioners and specialist medical officers.
