Job Description We are currently looking for an Agency Accountant to join our hardworking and tightknit team on a 12-month fixed term contract. As a vital member of our Finance team, you'll play a key role in collaboration with the other members of the team and in support of the Chief Accountant. Your focus will be on a variety of key processes within our French speaking agencies, dealing with financial reports, financial audits, month end closing and assisting with general agency finance functions. Here is some of what you will be doing: Preparing monthly profit and loss and balance sheet reports Inventory processing Preparing reconciliations, overhead reporting and journals Assisting with the preparation of month-end and year-end accounts Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data Maintaining an accurate and complete general ledger Other duties as required This full-time role is based in Auckland, New Zealand. You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test. Qualifications Here’s what you’ll bring to the table: A tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance (preferable) At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Accounting roles The ability to communicate fluently in French is essential Advance Level Microsoft Excel skills Experience with the Alpha3 and Cargowise systems (desirable) Great communication and organisational skills Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team This role will require you to bring strong financial literacy with a solution focused approach. You are a collaborative team player who builds strong relationships across functional lines and thrives on adding value. You will be confident in juggling competing work demands by assessing different work priorities and managing expectations for yourself and others – your ability to logically analyse information will be key to your success in the role.
