JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Agency Chef to join our friendly team for one of our Residential Home. You’ll be responsible for preparing nutritious, balanced meals for our residents while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
This is a flexible role, ideal for chefs looking for varied shift patterns and a rewarding working environment in the care sector.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience working as a chef in a care home, hospital, school, or similar environment.
• Valid Food Hygiene Level 2 (minimum)
• Understanding of dietary needs in elderly care settings
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, if needed
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.

• Prepare and cook meals according to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies when needed.
• Work collaboratively with care staff to ensure mealtimes run smoothly.
• Cater for special diets (e.g., diabetic, vegetarian, soft diets)
• Ensure correct food storage and temperature checks are carried out and recorded.
