About the role Gersh is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant to support an Agent in the Books / Media Rights department at our Beverly Hills office. This department works with and represents filmmakers, screenwriters, digital creators, authors, actors, journalists, producers, literary estates, podcasts, etc. You must have 1+ years of entertainment industry experience, ideally supporting a busy executive on a desk in an administrative function. Exceptional critical reading and writing skills are a must. This position requires a high level of organization and is extremely fast paced. Duties Provide administrative support, including monitoring emails, heavy volume of phone calls, calendar management, travel arrangements and expense reports. Client management, including processing payments, tracking contracts, and scheduling appointments. Draft correspondence, send submissions, and track incoming/outgoing material. High volume of reading and critically evaluating material. Ad hoc duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum of 1 year of entertainment industry experience required, specifically within books, publishing, film/television development, or a related area. An avid, critical reader with a strong interest in film, TV, books and literary packaging is required. Demonstrated high level of initiative, capable of managing Agent’s calendar, as well as multiple projects and duties. Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail with excellent follow through skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Ability to make sound decisions efficiently and effectively using critical thinking and practical approaches. Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion. Ability to read material quickly, form opinions and relay feedback. Willingness to make a 2-year commitment in the role.
