POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently working in the trade is preferred.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
  • Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach.
  • Able to work within a team environment.
  • Must be willing to travel to various quarry and plant locations in the Muskoka/Parry Sound/Haliburton regions.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
  • Perform and document daily equipment maintenance duties such as checking levels, safety equipment, greasing, etc.
  • Perform extensive physical labour as required and instructed.
  • Actively and safely participate in the plant’s cleaning and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Continually observe and report all plant deficiencies to the plant Foreperson.
  • Participate in company sponsored training programs and obtain all certifications as required by government and Fowler regulations (i.e., Surface Miner and Fall Arrest).
  • Continually build your knowledge base of all plant operations.
  • After receiving training, safely operate equipment as per the Foreperson’s directions.
  • Perform and document daily equipment maintenance duties as required.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
