Description

Bournemouth International Airport currently requires a full-time permanent AGL Technician to join a small team responsible for maintaining equipment serviceability and compliance to ensure safe and continued operations.
The postholders will complete testing, repair and maintenance of the airports AGL to ensure compliance with current regulations. To assist in the planning and execution of AGL related projects & future installations.

CANDIDATES SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THEY HAVE THE BELOW SKILLS AND SHOULD PROVIDE EVIDENCE OF THE BELOW IN THEIR APPLICATIONS:

  • A full UK driving license is essential
  • Qualified electrician
  • Technical knowledge and ability to pass AGL courses
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong values around health and safety and experience
Responsibilities
  1. To assist in the delivery and development of the maintenance strategy for AGL in accordance with EASA 2017/373 & CAP168.
  2. To help develop a long-term strategy for the repair, replacement and upgrade of the AGL.
  3. To help develop and monitor the scheduled maintenance for all AGL, ensuring that the availability of the assets are considered.
  4. Accurately document all work as required by Operational Procedures and CAA regulations. Ensure procedures are continuously followed and routinely reviewed to maintain quality and safety.
  5. Carry out planned maintenance schedules and reactive maintenance repairs within slippage.
  6. To assist in the delivery of routine AGL Mobile Airfield Light Monitoring Systems (MALMS) testing and carryout repair to any identified defects.
  7. Work with Consultants and Contractors to deliver the AGL projects in line with agreed programmes and budgets.
  8. Maintain personal competency in line with requirements
  9. Ensure all work is performed and commensurate with acknowledged safety procedures and Codes of Practice.
  10. Contribute to the Management of change within a safety environment and contribute to risk assessments and workshops.
  11. Report incidents and contribute to safety within a safety critical culture.
  12. Attend courses as directed to provide the level of competence necessary to carry out maintenance on AGL to the standards required by the policies, procedures and the CAA regulations.
  13. Work closely with the Air Traffic Engineering (ATE) team in support of AGL and some ATE tasks.

  14. To deliver the ad hoc electrical improvements within airport buildings in advance of other projects.

  • To obtain a full airside driving permit to carry out a range of duties airside.
