Description
Nokomai is an historic high-country sheep and cattle station nestled in its own valley at the foot of the Garvie Mountains in Northern Southland New Zealand. Employing a small, dedicated rural team of Stock and Agriculture Managers, Shepherds, Station Cooks and seasonal casual workers, this role provides administrative and accounting support. You’ll be part of something pretty special, supporting this iconic high-country station. This role offers: · Opportunity to work remotely · Flexible hours (with commitment to accounting timeframes) · Being part of a supportive rural team with a shared love of farming · Opportunity to grow your skills in agricultural systems and administrative · Professional handover with thorough training and initial support Whilst not site based, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the station and experience the farm working firsthand. About the role In this permanent, part time role of 30 hours per week, you’ll play a key part in ensuring things run smoothly so the team can do what they do best. Your days will be varied and include: · Accounting bookwork including AP and AR · PA duties managing the farm diary · Collecting and entering timesheets for payroll processing · Monitoring expenditure · Participating in H&S meetings including running and minute taking · Coordinating onboarding and induction processes for new starters There is potential for you to broaden the role across other areas of the business in line with your interests and skillset. About you Does the thought of an early morning muster, the sight of a full hay shed and a paddock of freshly shorn sheep give you a sense of joy? If you share a passion for farming and understand the seasonal cadence of agricultural operations, you’ll fit right it. We anticipate you’ll be located within cooey of the station (within a 45-minute radius) and available for regular check ins with the owner at a central location. Working remotely, you’ll be a self-starter and independent problem solver capable of balancing the timebound demands of accounts and the ad hoc nature of rural work. You’ll bring proven experience in accounts/ office administration roles and also offer: · Strong organisational and time management skills · High level of discretion and confidentiality · Flexible and adaptable approach to work · Confidence using accounting software, with experience in (or willingness to learn) Smartly, Xero, Cloud Farmer · Valid driver’s licence If this sounds like you, please apply online. If you have any questions, please contact Catherine Ebborn on 022 027 1175 or catherine.ebborn@findex.co.nz
