JOB TITLE: AGRICULTURAL ENGINEER

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Field-based around Devizes
Hours: 40 hours/week standard + regular overtime
Salary: £18.00 – £36.00 per hour
OTE: £52,800+ based on a 50-hour week | £71,600+ based on a 60-hour week

OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a skilled Agricultural Engineer, Service Technician or Plant Mechanic to join a highly respected agricultural dealership covering the Devizes area. This is a field-based role working directly on customer sites to service, diagnose and repair a range of modern farm machinery.
You’ll be trusted with your own van, territory, and the freedom to deliver great service without being micromanaged. If you want strong earnings, quality support and real recognition for your skills, this is a role worth exploring.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FROM AGRICULTURAL ENGINEER

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Agricultural Engineering, Plant Maintenance, Land-Based Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience in agricultural, plant or heavy machinery servicing
  • Confident in diagnostics, mechanical repairs and customer-facing work
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and committed to high service standards
  • Full UK driving licence
Responsibilities
  • Service, fault-find and repair a range of agricultural machinery including tractors, combines, balers and telehandlers
  • Attend customer sites for scheduled maintenance and emergency callouts
  • Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and CANbus systems
  • Work with diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics and on-board systems
  • Use digital systems to complete job reports and updates
  • Coordinate with the parts and service teams to ensure smooth job delivery
  • Occasionally support apprentices or junior team members when needed
