Role Summary:
This role is responsible for operating and maintaining agricultural machinery to carry out key farming activities efficiently and safely. The successful candidate will work across a range of field operations including planting, spraying, and harvesting.
Tasks:
Applicants with experience in the following duties will be strongly preferred:
1. Preparing and positioning agricultural machinery for operation, including configuring implements for specific field tasks such as ploughing, seeding, fertilising, spraying, and harvesting.
2. Operating tractor-drawn, self-propelled, and precision-guided machinery to perform fieldwork with attention to efficiency and crop care.
3. Calibrating and adjusting machinery settings based on field conditions and crop needs.
4. Keeping accurate records of operations, including areas worked, materials used, and equipment hours.
5. Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery to ensure reliable performance.
6. Transporting equipment between sites and complying with road transport laws.
7. Following safe work procedures when operating around crops, livestock, and team members.
8. Supporting irrigation tasks and monitoring automated systems where needed.
9. Cleaning and storing equipment after use to maintain condition and readiness.
Requirements:
Certificate II in Agriculture (or similar) or at least 12 months of relevant full-time work experience.
Functional English language skills for safety and recordkeeping.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
