Employee Contract Type: Local - Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term) Job Description: Job-Purpose The Agriculture Support Officer is responsible for the daily technical planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring, and reporting of Agriculture and Income Generation activities under the project, and for ensuring proper coordination with stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for timeously implementation and reporting of Agriculture and Income Generation activities in the respective targeting areas of the project. The Agriculture Support Officer will liaise closely with FSL Technical Coordinator of WVA for technical backstopping support throughout the project period. The incumbent will be responsible for providing supervision to Community Based Facilitators/CBFs. S/he performs under the leadership and guidance of Zonal Manager. Technical support and guidance · Lead in Agriculture and Income Generation beneficiary selection, beneficiary verification and beneficiary registration with MEAL unit and project manager · Provide relevant technical guidance on Agriculture and Income Generation activities, including leading participatory community livelihoods assessments and supporting beneficiaries develop viable business plans for IGAs · Conduct capacity building training on good Agriculture practices on selected crops and vegetables · Provide on-job follow up and technical guidance to CBFs and beneficiaries · Contribute in procurement of project inputs (Seed, Saplings, Fertilizers, livestock. etc) and ensure they are adoptable to the context. · Engaging and building strong relationships with community members, analyzing data collected to identify Income generation opportunities, support targeted beneficiaries prepare simple business plans · Facilitate trainings /orientation on Savings for Transformation (S4T) and organise beneficiaries of business start-up capitals/grants to initiate viable Income Generation activities (IGAs) for self-reliance Coordinate closely with the project manager to ensure timely implementation of the project activities and get readiness for timely distribution of Agriculture and Income Generation inputs/grants for the target communities. Ensure that all processes and activities are in line with WVA endorsed SOPs and procedures. Ensure that proper community development practices and “Do No Harm” practices are incorporated and upheld throughout the implementation of the project. Support WVA HIRO in receiving and inputting the beneficiary data into the LMMS, issuing beneficiary ration cards, generating BDLs and reports. Document field achievements, innovations, failures, and lessons learned to integrate into project activities and inform project strategy. Stakeholder coordination · Travel regularly to all project sites to ensure proper implementation and quality of project activities · Conducting coordination meeting with community elders and line departments on Agriculture and IGA activities. · Conduct regular meeting with local entrepreneurs. · Conduct market linkage between Community and local Provincial and zonal market. · Maintain excellent working relations with project stakeholder, partners and other contractors. Data collection and reporting Regular field visit, monitor, document and report work progress to FSL Project Manager on daily and weekly basis. And to FSL Coordinator to update the Report hub on monthly bases. Participate in preparation of project reports as per WVA and donor guideline Administrative tasks in relevant to project activities Logistical planning of distributions and other field activities (procurement, transport, cash advance etc. Provide the project manager and monitoring team with relevant information for project reports and surveys; Compile data collected from assessment and surveys with close coordination of the MEAL department for reporting purposes; Arrange all necessary logistics for activities of projects including workshops and trainings Other Adhere to WV Child and Adult Safeguarding policy and standards. Adhere to WV accountability standards. To be aware and prepared to implement WV Afghanistan Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs plan in Badghis Ensure that proper community development practices and “Do No Harm” practices are incorporated and upheld throughout the planning and implementation of the project. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification · 2 years’ work experience in Agriculture Required Professional Experience Bachler Degree In Agriculture Required Language(s) · Fluency in English, Dari and/or Pashto, both written and spoken Required travel and/or work environment accommodations Based in Badghis Zonal Office Position’s physical requirements Being in good health and physical conditions. Preferred Experience, Knowledge and/or other Qualifications Master’s degree in the relevant field is preferred Thorough knowledge of MS Office and Lotus Notes. Experience in maintaining databases and related information/knowledge management Financial/budget management Interpersonal sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse contexts, psychologically stressful environments, and hardship conditions. Experience in climate smart agriculture and DRR Experience in working with major donor agencies Familiarity with major donor funding requirements Knowledge of program monitoring and evaluation.
