Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at John Deere’s facility in Johnston, IA. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will plan, coordinate, and perform product design, testing and/or analysis work for a complete project of moderate scope or for a significant portion or a sub-system of a major and diverse project. Operate in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to support personnel. Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or equivalent field (e.g. Soil Science).
  • Agronomy background - understand production systems and be able to answer questions on ag management practices.
  • Experience with GIS software package. ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.
  • Experience supporting a software package – answering support questions, root causing issues, gathering user feedback, and proposing software changes.
  • Execute test cases to confirm software meets acceptance criteria.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be able to solve problems with a high level of detail.

Responsibilities
  • Provide agronomic support and technical assistance to Dealers using an internal trial design and analysis tool.
  • Help with defining and testing new features based on interactions with Dealers to improve tool functionality.
  • Contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters.
  • Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
  • Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Work without supervision and provide technical guidance when required on how to get results using new and advanced engineering technologies.
  • Work without supervision and provide technical guidance as needed on executing engineering designs using the appropriate methods, tools, processes and software.
