WHAT KIND OF PERSON WILL BE SUITABLE?

We are looking for a hard working, confident and qualified agronomist with a passion for technology and agriculture. The perfect person would enjoy establishing strong farmer relationships at the farm gate, with ag company decision makers and generally across the industry.

The role involves paddock-based work, crop monitoring, soil testing, report writing and building trusted relationships with growers. Your day to day responsibilities will include:

• Develop farm agronomy plans and crop production strategies with large family and corporate farms
• Lead crop protection and herbicide trials; develop and maintain client relationships
• Work alongside the Managing Director on corporate agronomy strategy and overseas business opportunities
• Identify, plan and peg trial sites; support with data collection and assessments
• Enter trial data into ARM and other systems (training provided)
• Liaise with chemical company R&D teams for best trial outcomes
• Extend and present research to grower groups and industry forums
• Occasionally support plant breeding trials during peak periods
• Play a leadership role in mentoring and guiding junior research agronomists
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and contribute to a culture of trust and service
• Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, regulations and best practices
