POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced location manager to oversee operations at our grain and agronomy facility. This role is responsible for managing daily activities, leading a team, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving operational excellence in both grain and agronomy.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three or more years of experience in agronomy, grain operations, or agricultural management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Willingness to adopt a positive company culture
  • Knowledge of agricultural inputs and grain handling systems.
  • Familiarity with precision agriculture tools and software is advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • CDL with Hazmat and Applicator License preferred
  • Current Grain Grading license or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all aspects of facility operations, including grain receiving, storage, and shipping.
  • Manage agronomy services, including fertilizer, seed, chemical sales, and custom applications.
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of employees to ensure safety, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Establish strong relationships with local growers and agribusiness clients.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate logistics for timely product delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with upper management on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Promote precision agriculture technologies and services.
  • Act as a resource, guide, and coach for direct reports, assisting with job development and growth. This includes setting goals and providing the necessary resources to achieve them.
  • Ensure that operations and customer service are conducted efficiently while meeting the mission of the cooperative and customer needs.
  • Develop a high-quality team of employees with a passion for their work. A team that is willing to collaborate, respect each other, and support other divisions or locations.
  • Be able and willing to cross-train employees to enhance skill sets, ensuring that employees have the necessary skills to assist other divisions when needed.
  • Ensure that the agronomy facilities and equipment are maintained in excellent condition.
  • Ensure that the appropriate products for retail sales are available and that the established margins and service charges by the VP of Agronomy are maintained.
  • Ensure that agronomy and grain accounting are conducted in accordance with the cooperative policy determined by the controller, and that billing and accounting controls are in place.
  • Ensure that the cooperatives employee policy is adhered to by all branch employees.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist the VP of Operations in preparing an annual budget.
