Job Details Job Location: New Bloomington, OH 43341 Central Ohio Farmers Co-op, Inc. (COFC) is dedicated to providing our members with quality products and services. We have strong relationships with our customers which helps us provide the right products at the right times to fit their individual needs! COFC is seeking an Agronomy Sales Specialist to become a member of our New Bloomington Team. Summary The Agronomy Sales Specialist will work with growers to promote the cooperative programs related to marketing of products (including seed), services and application in a way that will optimize cooperative market share and improve efficiency. This position includes field scouting, making proper recommendations, and working with management to coordinate application scheduling. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.) · Basic knowledge of all chemicals and their abilities of control. · Use the assigned software to accurately record sales orders and quotes with correct credit terms. · Responsible for growing and maintaining customer relationships within an assigned territory. · Available to assist other departments in their peak seasons. · Acquire the proper job related licenses and certifications. · Perform other duties that may be directed by the supervisor. · Compile lists of current and prospective customers for use as sales leads. · Must know, understand and comply with all safety and government regulations. Qualifications Customer Service Customers are the key to our success. All customers should always be greeted with a friendly attitude and as quickly as possible by every employee. Phone calls should be answered promptly and courteously. Employees should make every effort to fill a customer’s needs while remembering that we must remain a profitable company. Product should never leave the premises without proper billing and loading procedures as set by management. Employees are responsible to supply correct products, accurate mixes, deliveries, etc. to each customer. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in an agriculture program and/or position. Knowledge of agronomic practices and applications relative to seed, fertilizer, soils, and ag-chemicals. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Motor Vehicle License Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record and no DUI's or OVI's within the past five years . This position requires the safe operation of a motor vehicle to perform the essential functions of the job. The employee must meet the qualifications set forth in COFC’s motor vehicle safety policy. Failure to meet these qualifications could result in removal from this position.
