QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification in mining related field (desirable)
  • Hands-on experience operating T264 haul trucks, with a solid understanding of their systems and functionality.
  • Previous experience as an autonomous check driver, ensuring the performance, safety, and functionality of autonomous haulage systems.
  • Proven experience managing in-field activities, including setting up and adjusting dynamic operating areas in collaboration with mine control teams.
  • Strong history of working closely with mine control, operations, and technical teams to align field activities with operational objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to autonomous haulage systems in a field environment.
  • Ability to quickly identify issues and implement solutions in real-time to ensure minimal disruption to autonomous operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with mine control, operations, and technical teams, ensuring smooth coordination and alignment.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate in-field activities, ensuring the dynamic setup and maintenance of autonomous operating areas.
  • Strong attention to detail in monitoring system performance, conducting surveys, and updating virtual models to ensure operational accuracy and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of autonomous haulage technology and its integration into mining operations, including equipment functionality and system requirements.
  • Understanding of mine operations, safety standards, and best practices, particularly as they relate to autonomous equipment and its safe deployment in the field.
  • Familiarity with mine control processes and fleet management systems, including their role in tracking and managing autonomous equipment performance and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveys and regularly update the virtual mine model to ensure alignment with real-world conditions.
  • Define, monitor, and adjust autonomous operating areas to support safe and efficient operations in response to changing site conditions.
  • Identify and resolve issues with autonomous systems in collaboration with technical and control room teams.
  • Act as the primary in-field representative for mine control, ensuring alignment between field activities and control room operations.
  • Work closely with operations and mine control teams to achieve aligned goals and support continuous improvement.
  • Observe and report on the performance of autonomous systems, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates to mine control and other stakeholders regarding field conditions and system status.
  • Contribute to the successful rollout and operational readiness of autonomous haulage systems by ensuring smooth field execution and collaboration.
