Description
SAIC is seeking an AI Data Architect with evolved AI/ML specialization and Palantir expertise to join the IRS Advanced Analytics Program (AAP). This role extends beyond traditional data engineering into shaping AI/ML and GenAI architectures, ensuring that IRS mission teams can securely and effectively build, train, and operationalize models across Databricks, AWS SageMaker/Bedrock, and Palantir Foundry. The Data Architect will define enterprise data strategies, AI/ML workflows, and integration patterns, while embedding Trustworthy AI, bias detection, and compliance into design. Acting as both a data strategist and AI/ML specialist, this role will directly influence how AAP evolves to support scalable, interoperable, and future-ready AI/ML solutions. Key Responsibilities Define and evolve AI/ML and data architectures that support traditional models, LLMs, and GenAI workflows across Databricks, AWS, and Palantir. Partner with architects, data engineers, and AI/ML engineers to design end-to-end pipelines for training, fine-tuning, and inference. Architect Palantir Foundry integrations with AAP services, ensuring cross-platform data interoperability and secure access. Lead design of metadata, lineage, and governance frameworks to support compliance, explainability, and audit readiness. Collaborate with Trustworthy AI specialists to embed fairness, transparency, and bias detection into model workflows. Partner with the Chief Architect and Product Manager to shape the roadmap for AI/ML enablement and Palantir integration. Provide strategic guidance on emerging AI/ML and GenAI technologies and evaluate integration opportunities. Contribute to reference architectures, best practices, and onboarding playbooks for mission teams. Mentor engineers and analysts to elevate AI/ML maturity across the program. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or AI/ML-related field. Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship. 8+ years of experience in data architecture with progression into AI/ML solution design. Hands-on expertise with Palantir Foundry (data integration, ontology modeling, governance). Strong experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow) and AWS AI/ML services (SageMaker, Bedrock, Glue, Redshift). Proven ability to design AI/ML and GenAI workflows (data prep, training, fine-tuning, inference). Solid understanding of federal compliance, audit requirements, and secure boundary design. Desired Skills Certifications: Databricks Architect, AWS Machine Learning Specialty, or Palantir Foundry certification. Knowledge of LLM/GenAI engineering patterns (prompt pipelines, RAG, multi-model orchestration). Familiarity with Trustworthy AI principles and embedding them into operational pipelines. Experience guiding enterprise AI strategy in regulated domains. Strong leadership and mentoring skills to elevate cross-functional AI/ML maturity.
Responsibilities
The AI Data Architect will define and evolve AI/ML and data architectures to support various workflows across Databricks, AWS, and Palantir. This role involves collaborating with various teams to design end-to-end pipelines and ensure compliance and governance frameworks are in place.
