In this role, you will have to opportunity to: Develop innovative data product using machine learning to solve business problems Write well-designed, efficient code that can be tested, again and again Be one of the pioneers of a new AI Lab in Hong Kong Influence the AI roadmap of the biggest P&C insurer in Canada Keep pace with new technologies and use them in your own solutions Work within a multi-disciplinary environment mixing people from data science, software engineering, actuarial science, business and design Share knowledge with interns, data scientist and other software developer to grow, as a team Here’s what you bring to the table: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, AI or a related discipline Knowledge of Python or other language such as Java, C++, C#, etc Internship or full-time experience in software development Knowledge of software engineering practices such as design patterns, knowledge of the development cycle and other tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, … The commitment to be a great, collaborative teammate Unlimited curiosity and a passion to challenge the status quo Ability to focus on vaguely defined issues requiring the application of a creative approach Strong communication, time management and work organization skills If you don’t have experience in the AI field, a strong motivation to learn this new and exciting field Some nice-to-haves: Highly desired: Frontend experience with React framework, Typescript, async handling & state management tool Experience with machine learning and scientific computing libraries such as scikit-learn, NumPy, SciPy, Tensorflow, etc. Knowledge of DevOps modern tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, ELK Knowledge of the development technologies such as MongoDB, Kafka Experience developing data and machine learning pipelines About Us The Intact Lab – with headquarters in Montreal, Canada – is a fast-growing, digital innovation hub backed by Intact Financial Corporation (TSX: IFC, HK$110 billion in market cap), Canada’s largest home, auto and business insurance company.
