SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of AI engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Postgraduate or additional qualifications in AI/ML
  • Experience with AI frameworks for legal text processing, including OCR tools.
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts, particularly in NLP and Generative AI, Prompt engineering, LLMs
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
  • Experience with AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and NLP libraries (e.g., SpaCy, NLTK).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Proficiency creating and using REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with full-stack architecture is a strong plus.
  • Coding experience in the context of cloud technologies.
  • Basic understanding of the legal industry and terminology is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with legal technology tools or document review software.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security standards relevant to legal documentation.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

ROLE SUMMARY

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fast-growing Consulting Business working with some of the world’s leading financial institutions as an AI Engineer. The successful candidate will be experienced in Python and AI for Legal Documentation Review.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT EXHAUSTIVE):

  • Design and develop AI-powered legal document review models, leveraging NLP, deep learning, and LLMs for contract clause extraction, risk assessment and compliance verification.
  • Implement machine learning pipelines for document processing, integrating OCR (Optical Character Recognition), Named Entity Recognition (NER), and semantic search.
  • Optimise text classification and contract clause retrieval using transformer models (BERT, GPT, etc).
  • Work with legal teams to ensure AI models align with legal interpretation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in developing and enhancing the AI-driven legal documentation review platform.
  • Work with senior engineers to implement and optimize natural language processing (NLP) models and machine learning algorithms focused on legal texts.
  • Integrate AI technologies for automated document analysis, highlighting key clauses, potential risks, and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with legal experts and engineers to ensure the platform meets the requirements for accuracy, security, and usability.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, with a focus on performance and scalability.
  • Assist in data preparation, including gathering and pre-processing legal data for training and testing AI models.
  • Conduct testing and debugging to ensure the platform functions as expected.
  • Continuously research and stay updated on advancements in Generative AI, NLP, and legal tech to improve the platform’s capabilities.
