JOB DESCRIPTION

Join FinXL Professional Services - AI Engineer
FinXL is a leading technology and professional services consultancy, proud to be a trusted partner to Australia’s most recognised businesses. We specialise in connecting top-tier talent with challenging and rewarding engagements that drive innovation and professional growth. We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where our consultants can thrive and make a real impact.
FinXL is partnering with a Sydney CBD based banking client to find an experienced AI Engineer for a 12-month assignment.
This client project focuses on developing and deploying innovative AI solutions that enhance technology risk management. You will design scalable platforms and applications to improve how operational risks are monitored, assessed, and responded to. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, risk analysts, and data specialists, you will integrate AI models into their ecosystem. The role involves leveraging large language models (LLMs) and generative AI to provide deeper risk insights, building tools to monitor AI systems, and ensuring compliance with governance standards. You will also establish best practices for AI adoption, aligning with the client’s broader technology and risk strategies to drive innovation in risk management.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong technical expertise in Python with hands-on experience in AI frameworks like LangChain, OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude, Amazon Bedrock, or Google Vertex.
  • Proven experience deploying generative AI applications in production, including prompt engineering and system monitoring.
  • A platform engineering mindset, with a focus on building reusable AI infrastructure, model-serving systems, and developer tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and AI services (e.g., Bedrock, SageMaker).
  • Strong engineering skills, including testing strategies for AI systems, version control, and quality practices.
