Description
About Red Clay Red Clay is an Oracle Partner focused exclusively on the utility industry. Over the last 20 years, we've delivered more than 300 projects to utility companies of every size and type in the U.S. and across the globe. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, our employees span the U.S., Canada, and Colombia—a dynamic mix of work and life experiences, educational backgrounds, and cultures. Red Clay has been named one of Atlanta's Best Places to Work three times and recognized as one of Atlanta's Healthiest Employers. About the AI & Innovation Team Our mission is to make Red Clay the most AI-forward consulting firm in Power & Utilities. We build AI tools that make our consultants dramatically more effective, and we invent AI products that solve real problems for utilities. About the Role We're looking for a recently graduated engineer with a passion for AI. You're excited about frontier LLMs, you build personal projects for fun, and you care more about solving problems than optimizing for technical elegance. You'll work side by side with our consultants to build AI applications used by both our internal teams and our clients. We don't need you to have years of production experience. We need you to be curious, fast, and excited to ship. Key Responsibilities Design and develop internal knowledge bases using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Design and develop agentic AI "coworkers" using Model Context Protocol (MCP), Skills, and orchestration frameworks. Communicate with consultants and domain experts to map daily workflows into AI workflows Build systems that leverage frontier LLMs to enhance our consulting operations Continuously learn and apply new AI developments to our projects Qualifications Recent graduate in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, AI, Machine Learning, or related field Demonstrable experience with academic/personal AI projects or open-source contributions Familiarity with frontier LLMs (Claude, GPT Gemini, Grok) Preferred Qualifications Experience with vector embedding models, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation Experience with context and prompt engineering Has worked with agentic coding tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and/or agent-to-agent (A2A) protocols Experience with Vercel, Supabase, or similar platforms Active GitHub profile with personal or open-source AI projects High agency—you identify opportunities and execute without being asked Language-agnostic mindset—you focus on solving problems rather than the tech stack Location & Travel This position is remote-eligible within the USA. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to client sites. Is This Role Right for You? Before applying, ask yourself: Do you build things on the side because you find it fun? Are you comfortable shipping something rough and iterating, rather than perfecting before release? Can you work independently without someone defining every step? Do you keep up with the AI frontier and get excited about new model, protocol, and product releases? If you answered yes to these, we'd love to hear from you. To apply, visit redclay.com/careers or send your resume to [email protected].
